How to Modify Index Settings of a Directory

This guide helps in modifying index settings of a directory. Users can modify the look of a directory in their website. Users can select the method of displaying the list of contents on the screen. Four options are available; you can choose any one as per your requirement.

Follow the steps:

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Select the “Advanced” tool.
3. Click on the “Indexes” sub-option.
4. A list of directories will be shown on this page.
5. Select a directory whose index you wish to modify.
6. Click on the “Edit” button on the right side of the screen.
   
7. A new page will appear with indexing options, choose an appropriate option by clicking on the radio button.
8. Click on the “Save” button.
   
9. You will get a success message after the changes takes an effect.
