If you see “UNKNOWN” displayed at the top of WHM near the cPanel version after logging in, it usually means the RPM database is corrupted. This prevents WHM from detecting the correct operating system.
Follow the steps to fix the issue:
- Log in to SSH.
- Use the below command to fix most RPM database issues:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/find_and_fix_rpm_issues
- To correct the “UNKNOWN” part at the top of WHM, execute the following command:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/gensysinfo
- Restart cPanel to make sure the modifications take effect and are viewable:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/restartsrv_cpsrvd
This way, you can fix the “UNKNOWN” error in WHM OS Distribution after RPM Database Corruption. For more latest KBs visit our KB section regularly.
