This article explains how to use WHM to activate Shell Fork Bomb Protection. Shell Fork Bomb Protection, a feature of cPanel, prevents users with access to SSH terminals from launching fork bomb attacks, which could potentially crash your web server and consume excessive amounts of system resources.
Steps to follow:
- Log in to WHM.
- Select the “Security Centre” category and click on the “Shell Fork Bomb Protection” option.
- At the end, you will notice “Status: Enable/ Disable Protection” Option.
- Click on the “Enable Protection” button.
- It will be enabled as seen in the image below.
