How to setup directory privacy in cPanel panel

The following article explains how to setup directory privacy in cPanel for directories with password. When you password-protect a directory, any directories beneath it are also password-protected.

Follow the steps to setup directory privacy in cPanel :

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. Click on the “Directory Privacy” option from the “Files” category.

3. Select the directory that you wanted to protect and click on the “Edit” button.

4. Tick the box next to the “Password protect this directory” option.

5. Enter the name.

6. Click on the “Save” button.

7. You will get a success message.

8. Click on the “Go back” button.

9. In the “Create User”, you can add the users by typing the username and password.

10. You can generate the password using the generator option.

11. Then finally click on the “Save” button.

12. You will see the password has been set for the user “TWENTY” successfully.

13. You will see the “Authorized users” as shown in the image given below.

This way you can add multiple users to a password-protected directory.
