In this article, we have explained how to configure FTP clients in cPanel. Users can use the Configure FTP client feature in cPanel to auto-configure FTP client, if using FTP applications like FileZilla, CoreFTP (for Windows), or Cyberduck (for Mac).
Note- Presently cPanel only supports these three FTP clients for auto-configuration. If you wish to use another FTP client, you will have to manually set up the FTP client.
Let us configure FTP clients in cPanel-
- Log in to cPanel.
- Install FTP application if it is not installed on your computer.
- Select the “Files” section and click on the “FTP Accounts” sub-option.
- Scroll down and select the FTP account you wish to configure on your FTP client.
- Click on the “Configure FTP client” option as shown in the image.
- As soon as you click on it, configuration files will appear on the screen.
- Click on the “FTP configuration file” button under the desired FTP client.
- The file will be downloaded to your local computer.
- Open the downloaded file and it will open the FTP client and start the auto-configuration procedure.
