How to create a basic SPF record in cPanel

This article explains how to create a basic SPF record in cPanel. SPF records help improve email deliverability by authorising mail servers to send emails on behalf of your domain.

Steps to Create a Basic SPF Record in cPanel:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Navigate to the Email section and click on Email Deliverability.

  3. Select the domain for which you want to configure the SPF record and click Manage.

  4. If the Domain Is Using cPanel DNS:
    Click INSTALL THE SUGGESTED RECORD to enable the SPF record automatically.

  5. If the Domain Is Using External DNS:
    1. cPanel will display the recommended SPF record.
    2. Copy the suggested SPF record.
    3. Log in to your external DNS provider.
    4. Add or update the SPF TXT record for the domain using the copied value.
    5. Save the changes and allow time for DNS propagation.
