eukhost Powers Forward with Move to Leeds Tech Hub

As part of our ongoing development strategy, eukhost, together with our parent company, The Hyperslice Group, and sister brand, Webhosting UK, has relocated to new headquarters at the prestigious Platform Tech Hub in Leeds city centre. Adjacent to the train station in the heart of Leeds, this strategic move puts the group’s 20 years of experience and managed IT, web hosting, cybersecurity, business continuity and cloud solutions at the fingertips of the city’s growing enterprise community.

Widening our reach across the north

The relocation is a key part of our company’s evolution. Not only will the group’s move extend the repertoire of technical services delivered by companies at Platform; as the UK’s leading independent managed hosting and IT solutions provider, we will be able to support those companies in their evolution and create new, exciting partnerships to enhance our services and our customer’s experiences. And beyond Platform, the improved transport links that come from being next to a major railway station and close to the M62 make it easier for us to meet face to face with clients from across the northern powerhouse.

Deb Hetherington, Head of Innovation for Bruntwood SciTech said: “We’re delighted that Hyperslice has chosen to locate their headquarters to Platform. They’ll be a brilliant addition to the community which is already home to more than 80 of the city’s leading digital and tech startups, scale ups, and larger businesses. Hyperslice are moving into our dedicated Tech Hub and we’re looking forward to working with them to help their business grow even further, providing them with access to talent, funding, and connecting them into our large partner network.”

A further part of eukhost’s and the group’s £5million expansion plan is to build a new data centre and we are currently looking for suitable sites across the north of England. We hope to bring this state-of-the-art facility online by 2023, enabling us to serve more customers and provide them with a wider range of high-availability, high performance IT solutions. In preparation for this, we have also relocated the eukhost and Webhosting UK technical teams to new offices in York. This will improve access to northern data centres and provide better resources for our research and development experts to develop new digital services that will meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Building a sustainable future

As with all companies, there is an increasing need to be more sustainable in everything we do, and this move helps us take an important step forward in that direction. Our offices at Platform and York have the highest EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of A, meaning they are certified as highly efficient, and with both having excellent rail and bus transport links, our teams can make greater use of public transport on the occasions when they need to meet face to face with clients or collaborate on projects. We’ve also helped reduce our carbon footprint and improved employee work-life balance by introducing flexible and remote working, so much less commuting is needed overall.

Going forward, the creation of the new data centre will give us the opportunity to build in sustainability from the ground up. Not only will the technology be greener, but so too will the fabric of the building and the construction project itself. At the same time, one of the central areas for our research and development teams over the next year is to develop greener, more energy-efficient hosting platforms and applications that we, our customers and the planet can all benefit from.
