December 6, 2023 / MySQL

The MySQL Access Hosts tool within WHM enables you to designate specific hostnames and IP addresses for automatic inclusion across all users and databases on your server.

Follow the steps:

  1. Log in to WHM.
  2. Select the Database Services.
  3. Click Manage Database Access Hosts.
    Manage Database Access
  4. You will be heading towards a new page. Enter as many additional hosts as you can.
Note: Hosts should be entered on separate lines.
  5. Click on the “Save” button.

  6. After saving the additional database access hosts in WHM, the entries are stored at the server level but are not immediately active for existing cPanel accounts.
  7. To apply the new hosts, each cPanel user must log in to their account and open the MySQL Manager, which refreshes the available host list.
  8. Alternatively, WHM provides an administrative tool that allows server administrators to apply the updated access hosts across all accounts without requiring individual user action.

Adding extra MySQL access hosts in WHM simplifies the management of remote database connections by making approved hosts available across all cPanel accounts. Once the configuration and activation steps are completed, applications and services can connect to MySQL using the newly added hosts.
