How to use the Track Delivery Function in cPanel

In this article, we will explain how you can use the track delivery function from the cPanel.

Talking about the track delivery feature, it allows the users to keep the track of their outgoing and incoming emails. Therefore, this is a useful tool that you can use anytime you run into problems with email delivery from your account.

Follow these steps to use the track delivery function:

  1. Log into your “cPanel account”.

    Click on “Track Delivery”, from the “Email” section.

  2. If you want to view the delivery report for any specific email address during the past 30 days. You need to enter your email address and press the “Run Report” button.

  3. You can also leave the text box empty and select the option “Show All” to list delivery details for all outgoing emails from your account or else, you can choose another option, to “show blocked & failed” to list all the blocked and failed outgoing emails.Show Blocked & Failed
  4. There are 4 Types of filter in Email Track.
    1. Shows Success: In this option lits all the emails that are successfully delivered to the receiver.
    2. Shows Deferred: This option displays all emails with a warning, which are the postponed system emails.
    3. Show Failures: It displays all emails that were not sent to the intended recipient. It will also detail any other email transmission failures.
    4. Show in-Progress: This option displays every email that is presently under delivery.By selecting the small menu icon on the right, you can access more information than what is by default presented. There, you can select one or more alternatives from the drop-down menu.
  5. Explanation of Delivery Report:

    1. Event – In this column it will show you the icon of success, failure or deferred emails.
    2. From Address – It will show your email sender
    3. Sent Time – It will show you the date and time when an email was sent
    4. Spam Score – It will show you the Apache SpamAssassin spam score
    5. It provides you the recipient’s email address
    6. It will show you the error encountered by the system while sending the email. As, it describes the delivery results
    7. Action – It provides you a report of more details of the sent email
  6. Next to the email, you need to on click the “blue button” under Actions to view information about the email transmission.

  7. Once you click on the blue icon, you will get the “Delivery Event Details”.
