This guide explains how to turn on/off the WordPress Maintenance mode in Plesk. When a WordPress website is in maintenance mode, its content is hidden from visitors, but the content itself remains unaffected. Visitors will see a maintenance screen instead of your normal website content.
Important note: WordPress automatically enters maintenance mode during installation upgrades and data transfer between WordPress websites.
If you wish to make changes to your website and want to hide it from visitors momentarily, you can manually enable maintenance mode.
Let us follow the steps:
- Log in to Plesk.
- Select the “WordPress” option from the left-hand side panel.
- Choose the WordPress installation you want to put into maintenance mode.
- Slide the switch to the right side to enable the maintenance mode on the installation card.
- You will receive a success message as soon as you enable the maintenance mode.
- To disable maintenance mode and make your website noticeable again, simply switch off Maintenance Mode.
This is how you can enable and disable WordPress maintenance mode in Plesk. Was not that simple? If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to our support team.
