This article explains how to automatically delete forwarded emails in cPanel.
cPanel’s email forwarder option allows you to forward emails from one account to another. By default, it keeps a copy in the primary email account while also sending a copy to the forwarding address, resulting in duplicate emails. If you prefer not to retain a copy in the primary account, you can set up an email filter to automatically delete the original after forwarding.
Steps to Delete Forwarded Email Copies in cPanel
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Navigate to “Email Filters.”
- Find the email account you want to set up forwarding for, then click “Manage Filters.”
- Select “Create a New Filter.”
- Enter the following details:
- Enter a unique “Filter name”. If you give the filter the same name as another filter, the previous filter will be overwritten.
- In the “Rules” section, select Any Header and Contains, then enter the email address you want to forward.
- In the “Actions” section, select “Redirect to Email” and enter the email address where you want the emails to be forwarded.
- Finally, click the “Create” button.
That’s it! This setup will delete forwarded email copies in your cPanel account automatically.
